STATE OF THE UNION is a frame by frame animation of super8 film footage shot from a television screen of the 2006 State of the Union Address.  Visible in the frame are George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Nancy Pelosi.

Jonathan Podwil (1966, Philadelphia PA) is a Brooklyn based painter, filmmaker and animator.
He studied at the University of Pennsylvania & Pennslyvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and at Konstskola Forum in Malmö, Sweden.  He has exhibited in New York City at Plane Space, White Columns, Smack Mellon, and the Dumbo Arts Center.  He has also exibited in solo and group shows in Los Angeles, Vienna, Berlin, Malmö, Stockholm and Torino.
