For the Love of Posh
Giorgio Armani underwear
Czech Preciosa Rhinestones

This installation plays on parody and excessiveness of adoration:
For The Love of Posh is parody on several levels. Firstly it pays ‘homage’ to artist Damien Hirst’s ‘For the Love of God’, 2007 a life-size cast of a human skull in platinum, covered entirely in diamonds, the most expensive contemporary artwork ever. For The Love of Posh also references Giorgio Armani’s ad campaign for underwear featuring David Beckham. The title refers to David Beckham’s connection to Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), as adornment and love but also ‘posh’, meaning something high–class or superior. -Liz Blum
